2. Using the Wrong Quantity of Water

When pouring concrete, too little or too much water can signify that you’re not using the right mixture. For example, if there is more than one percent surplus in cement per cubic yard, your mix may have excess water, which will promote cracking over time. 3. Not Vibrating the Concrete Enough

4. Not Pre-Wetting the Masonry

If you don’t pre-wet your masonry, it may not be able to hold onto the concrete mixture. This will affect how well they bond with each other and decrease the overall strength of your final product.

If possible, you should wet the masonry down before pouring your mix. This will allow it to absorb more of the water and cement in the mixture to set correctly without major issues.
